Crumbles
We have been enjoying our new Computing topic, where we are programming Crumble micro controllers. So far we have programmed a light show using the sparkles and used the motors to rotate our dancing man.
Charcoal
We used our trip to Hollingworth Lake as our inspiration to use charcoal to produce our water scenes. They turned out fantastic even if we were covered in charcoal dust by the end of the lesson.
Hollingworth Lake
We had a fantastic time at Hollingworth Lake. We enjoyed, kayaking, raft building and bell boating. We all showed fantastic team work and only a few of us fell in!
Separating Materials
We had a task to separate a mixture of different solids. We looked at different methods including magnetism and sieving. We used tin foil trays to make our own sieves. We started with smaller holes and then made them bigger to separate the different materials.
Cracking Ideas!
We had some fantastic entries to our Easter design a boiled egg competition. Thank you to all who participated. A special well done to Hijaab Zahra for her winning hedgehogs and Cole for his winning Egg2 plane.
Sewing Bee
In our DT project 'Sewing Bee', we made either a phone case, purse or pencil case. We used blanket stitch to sew the seams and designed a felt motif to attach. They looked fantastic even though we were champions at pulling our needles off the thread!...
World Book Day
On World Book Day we all looked fantastic dressed as adjectives. The children impressed with their creativity and in particular Amelia's 'rich' and Yousaf's 'injured' won the prizes for Year 5. We all made a new bookmark for use in class highlighting our adjective and...
World Book Day Parade
Key Stage 1 and 2 met in the hall this morning to parade in our costumes. We all came dressed as adjectives. There were some fantastic costumes and some brilliant vocabulary shared. Thank you everyone for all your effort.
Investigating Flowers
As part of our work on the life cycles of plants and animals, we had a look at the male and female parts of a flower. To help us understand and learn our new vocabulary, we dissected daffodils and lilies to identify the different parts within them.
Let There Be Light!
As part of our Earth and Space topic we have been learning about shadows. Unfortunately the poor weather in January and February meant that we had to wait to complete our investigation to make a shadow clock. When we finally got a sunny day we investigated how the...
Young Voices
Some of Year 5 and 6 had the fantastic opportunity to perform at the Co-op Live Arena as part of the Young Voices Choir 2026. We were joined by over 8000 children from other schools across the region to sing a variety of songs and perform alongside professional...
Journey To Space
Our science topic this term is Earth and Space. We used the interactive room to take a journey into space to investigate the planets. We also did an investigation into the moon phases by sitting in a circle around the model of a moon to see what it looked like at...
