Year 1

Year 1

Welcome to Year 1’s class page. We hope you had a lovely summer break.

On our page you’ll be able to find the latest class newsletter, topic homework sheet and spellings just in case any thing has been left in trays and you need another copy! Here you will also be able to see lots of photos of all the fun and interesting activities we take part in. Check back regularly for updates.

Reading books will only be changed on Mondays and Thursdays but please try to encourage your child to read everyday. Please sign and date your child’s reading record every time they read. If your child gets 3 entries (signatures and dates) a week they will be entered into the school raffle for a chance to win a prize!

Here are some important dates to help you remember when things should be in school:

Our P.E. days are Wednesdays and Thursdays.  Children should come dressed in a plain white t-shirt/polo shirt, plain black bottoms, school jumper/cardigan and their school shoes.

MONDAY  – Change reading books and Maths homework will be sent home.

WEDNESDAY – PE day

THURSDAY – PE day and change reading books.

FRIDAY – English homework and spellings will be sent home.

Water Bottles (Please fill with water only). Your child is welcome to bring a water bottle to school each day to drink in throughout the day.  We encourage the children to take them home each evening, rinse them and bring them in full each day.

Please read our Newsletter below to find out what we will be doing this half term.
