Hello and welcome to Year 2’s class page. I’m Mrs Clayton the class teacher and we are very lucky to have Mrs Hardiment and Ms Jamil as our class teaching assistants. Here on our page you’ll be able to find the latest class newsletter and homework sheets including weekly spellings. If you would like a paper copy of any of the documents, please let one of us know. Seeds and bulbs
Today, we have been exploring the differences between seeds and bulbs. We have felt the different textures, observed the shapes and sizes, recognised similarities and differences and then sorted them into two groups.
World Book Day Parade
Key Stage 1 and 2 met in the hall this morning to parade in our costumes. We all came dressed as adjectives. There were some fantastic costumes and some brilliant vocabulary shared. Thank you everyone for all your effort.

Christmas Fun for Everyone!

Food Preparation
For our ‘In the Kitchen’ unit, we have been learning about a healthy and balanced diet and designed our own healthy wraps. We especially enjoyed preparing the foot by chopping, grating and peeling the vegetables.
Food chains
Today, we have been learning about food chains and understanding what different animals and humans eat.
Habitats
Year 2 enjoyed exploring outside for our science topic about habitats. We were looking for things that were alive, once alive and never been alive.
Freestyle footballer
Today, we had the pleasure of a world record holder coming to visit our school. Ash Randall impressed Year 2 with his football skills and tricks which he demonstrated in assembly. The children were then excited to have a go at some of the tricks he showed us!
