Crumbles
We have been enjoying our new Computing topic, where we are programming Crumble micro controllers. So far we have programmed a light show using the sparkles and used the motors to rotate our dancing man.
Parts of a plant
We identified the different parts of a plant and studied the function of each.
Roman Artwork
We studies Roman mosaics and how these were not just used to decorate their domus or villas but each actually told a story. We designed our own mosaics and used tiles and adhesive to construct them. We also used collage techniques to create Roman helmets.
Roman Shields
We researched, designed and constructed Roman shields using wooden dowels cut to size and hot glue guns.
Charcoal
We used our trip to Hollingworth Lake as our inspiration to use charcoal to produce our water scenes. They turned out fantastic even if we were covered in charcoal dust by the end of the lesson.
History: Maya Civilization
The children prepared and tasted Mayan foods as part of their history topic.
