In science we have been looking at the changes in plants and trees over the seasons. We looked around our school grounds and found a variety of leaves.
We have been learning all about Neil Armstrong and how he was the first man on the moon. We had great fun pretending to blast off in Apollo 11 and then experience what it would be like to walk on the moon in heavy boots.
We have been finding out about William Caxton who invented the printing press. We discovered how difficult it was to write with a quill pen and how much quicker it was to print.
As part of our Fierce creature topic Year 1 went on a trip to Blue Planet Aquarium. We had a lovely day. We went through a tunnel and saw sharks and rays. We had a picnic lunch and touched a starfish. We had a great time!
We had a lovely time looking for wild and garden flowers on our 'Plant Detective' walk. We were able to identify lots of the flowers we found and say whether we thought they were garden plants or wild plants.
We have been exploring Andy Goldsworthy's pictures where he uses natural resources to make pictures which he then photographs. We tried to make similar pictures using resources we could find in our classroom. We were really proud of the results!
