Hi,
Hope you all had a good break. Just like to say a big thank you to the school and the children who took part in the fundraiser back in July. With the money raised we helped people and communities in Jinja, Uganda whilst visiting in August.
We built a house for two homeless men, deliver goats and sewing machines to poor villages. We replace the ceiling in a hospital to make it more hygienic, put on a football gala to bring the communities together, deliver coaching seminars for the local coaches and teaching seminars for the local teachers. I have attached some pictures, please feel free to use them on your website or print them off to show the children so they can see where their money has gone.
Thanks again

MUSIC SERVICE ‘GAP PROJECT’ ENDS ON A HIGH NOTE!
The Rochdale Music Service has been playing host to three of its
neighbouring Primary Schools this term; Greenbank, All Saints CE and
St Patrick’s RC. The initials of the schools have been put together to
make G.A.P. for joint ventures such as this.
The children, from years 3 and 4, converged on Fieldhouse School; the
home of Rochdale Music Service all term. They worked with Musical
Director James Lewis on lots of songs and singing games.
Richard Charles, Head of Rochdale Music Service said,” This has been a
fantastic opportunity to host sessions for our friends and neighbours.
It’s great to see and hear the building alive with music the whole day through. All the partners involved with this initiative are really pleased with the results and we are hoping to repeat the project next term with some older children and maybe finish with a finalé in the Town Hall!”
“I would like to thank Martine Sinker from the Rochdale Education And Learning Trust for her generous support and also James Lewis for his inspirational leadership of these fantastic young singers.”

OPENING DOORS’ ARTS CELEBRATION
A truly stunning display of decorated full sized doors in the foyer of the Rochdale Town Hall formed the centre-piece of a recent Arts Celebration Event
All Saints’ was one of the many schools who made a door which with the others,
created a wonderland of colour and innovation that wowed the visitors during
the afternoon.
Mike Diggle REAL Trust Arts Consultant said, “The aim of the doors was to allow
schools to illustrate the amazing range and quality of the art work being
undertaken in our schools ranging from dance, drama, music, art, creative
writing and poetry.
The exhibition demonstrated how important the arts are in supporting and
$developing the whole curriculum. The afternoon also provided a range of quality
workshops run by local providers and artists together with thrilling live
performances from pupils of all ages covering all aspects of the performing
arts.
The afternoon was all too short – over in a flash! Many people commented about
what a pity it was that our display couldn’t be kept on view for much longer –
it really was amazing! We also exhibited some of the doors a few days later at
the Children’s Workforce Welcome Event at Middleton Arena where they again drew widespread praise. Visitors to the events were able to vote on which was their favourite door (see below). The winning school won a poetry workshop with ‘Just Poets.’ Whilst there was one overall winner on the day, every door was a winner for the arts and what they have to offer!
